Prince released this CD in the summer of 2007 through Sony. It was released in the UK through a newspaper promotion where the CD was given away with every copy of the newspaper on Sunday. Prince skipped the lyric book this time, instead putting the lyrics up as a download on 3121.com. It’s a simple cardboard package with the two main images of Prince based on photos taken by Afshin Shahidi. The credits are listed under the CD tray on the inside.
The Sony version of the package included a 3D lenticular version of the cover that also revealed the Prince symbol. The lenticular was based on a layered file of the cover that I provided to the manufacturers. I have a large version of it hanging in my office
UPDATE: Sony/Legacy is partnering with the Prince Estate to reissue this classic Prince album, using all of my original artwork and bundled with products I created during the same era.
