When I first heard Heath Ledger was going to be cast as the Joker in the sequel to “Batman Begins”, I was very disappointed. I figured it was some dumb Hollywood move and I just couldn’t picture him at all in the role. However – after the trailers, promo shots, posters, and the 6 minute clip that I saw in front of “I Am Legend” – I can’t see anyone taking his place! From what I’ve seen he has created an exciting, creepy, and very original character that makes Jack Nicholson’s Joker look like Ronald McDonald. And I think Ledger’s horribly tragic death has given the film a real dark edge and more reverence for his performance. It just sucks that he won’t be able to play the Joker in any future Batman movies.
