Seattle, Nov 9, 6:35 am. Music playing - “Leaving Hope” NIN
My daughter turned 6 years old just a week and a half ago. That means that she has spent her entire life living under the Bush Administration, living in the shadow of 9/11, living in the shadow of the Iraq war, and living with a string of blunders, disasters, fiascos, and tragedies that we have [...]
Blood On The Tracks
By: samnation on: Nov 1,2008 In: From SamI spent an hour in the emergency room on Halloween because I sliced my finger pretty deep on a broken drinking glass. Lotta blood, which is kinda Halloween-related. So I got this handy-dandy bracelet during my stay, I suppose for in case I go wandering in slice-fingered delirium down the halls.
Blurred out for the squeamish. [...]
There is a store in Ballard called Archie Mcphee’s that sells all kinds of odd and interesting stuff. It’s not for everyone but it can be a lot of fun if that’s what you’re into. There was a place in Chicago called Uncle Fun which was very similar. I got a Jesus light keychain and [...]
Last Saturday I gallivanted over to another Seattle coffee shop called Victrola. I went to the one on 15th in Capitol Hill. Coffee was good and I played Scrabble with a friend. Not a bad way to spend an evening at all.

Lil’ Wayne is really f*cking ugly.
Working for P. Diddy would REALLY, REALLY suck.
Keanu Reeves is a terrible actor.
John Cusack is a terrible actor except when he is just playing himself, which is the case in every movie he has ever made.
There is absolutely nothing attractive about Maggie Gyllenhaal.

The Dead End
By: samnation on: Sep 11,2008 In: From SamThe street where I work is essentially a dead end, but there isn’t a road sign letting you know. It runs right along Highway 5 and the road is directly across from an off-ramp from the highway. Considering there is no sign telling you otherwise, it’s very easy to assume that this road, the dead [...]
Fun Facts: Did You Know…

Gossip Girl is a stupid, obnoxious show about rich brat idiots.
“Disaster Movie” is the movie title and a 2 word review of the film.
The Olympics are boring and pointless.
Dane Cook and Kate Hudson need to be shot so they can no longer make horrible, despicable, evil movies that rot [...]
Sam in Seattle 10: Caffe Vita
By: samnation on: Aug 16,2008 In: Sam in SeattleAnother Saturday and here I am in a new cafe. This one is called Caffe Vita in Fremont. I have had their coffee before at work where someone had brought in a pound or two. I am not too picky about my coffee. I like it, I drink it, no muss, no fuss. So in [...]

Sam in Seattle 9: Garage
By: samnation on: Aug 14,2008 In: Sam in SeattlePhoto by Rob. It’s an interesting phenomena that happens where people all go out together to be social and wind up spending a big chunk of their time txt’ing and checking email on these happy devices. Maybe life is easier to handle through a digital buffer zone. However, meatspace has cocktails!
